One of the little kids (my kids :( ) knocked it off of the stool and WHAM!!!  The lens was snapped off the camera body. For those of you that aren't familiar with Nikon lenses, this is one that has a plastic mount.

I TRY to do this every month (sometimes 2x) just so, IF something happens to my laptop...like last year :( , I don't loose everything.

Now, I've always backed up to CD or DVD. I'm now looking at backing up to an array of HD's...ie, NAS (Network Attached Storage). From my wife, for Christmas, I ordered a couple of AlienBee B400 lights, a 64" PLM (very versatile), and a 22" high output beauty dish. I also ordered a set of wireless triggers from AlienBee. So far, I LOVE this stuff. I've only been able to play around with it a couple of times. But, I plan to put it to more use very soon.

This week I had the pleasure to shoot family portraits for the owners of Eagle Ray Divers, in Cozumel...unfortunately, I didn't get to travel to Cozumel this time :), but we will in the future.

Replaced the battery, that wasn't it. Oh well. 

Had a small Halloween shoot with my neighbor's children when I realized it went on the fritz. I made do with two flashes fired via my optical slaves. A little more post-processing, but that's the downfall of using inexpensive "ebay" remotes.

Jacob didn't want to participate at first, but soon he saw Benjamin and Briana having fun, so he joined in.

It's the first one I've shot in almost a year. I forgot how much running around I did...luckily, my friend Andy went with me to help out. He was my V.A.L.S. for the day (that's Voice Activated Light Stand). He also brought along his SB600 that I used in conjunction with my SB800 and Nikon's CLS feature. Worked nearly flawlessly. I purchased my first SLR camera (yes, it was film) a Pentax K1000. We learned how to work with the camera and the film. We had our own darkroom where we could develop and do our own prints.
